Krewe of Selene - Feb. 5

SLIDELL, LA (WVUE) - The Krewe of Selene rolls on Friday, Feb. 5 at 6:30 p.m. in Slidell. It begins on Spartan Dr. at Berkley St. and heads towards Pontchartrain Dr.

The parade makes a right and travels to Front St. where it makes another right. It heads to Gause Blvd., makes another right and ends near Corporate Square.

FOX 8's own Natasha Robin will serve as Grand Marshal this year.

According to Greek mythology, Selene was known as the Goddess of the Moon. She was the companion to Endymion, the God of Wine and Merriment.

The Krewe of Selene was established in 1998 by a group of local professional women. We rode our charter year with a membership of 260 women and that number has continuously risen throughout the years. Our club is well known for it's generosity as we roll through the streets of Slidell on the Friday night before Mardi Gras.
