NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

What better way to show support for the New Orleans Police Department this Carnival season, then sponsoring a police officer?

The New Orleans Police and Justice Foundation asks parade goers to participate in its Adopt-A-Cop program.

The organization provides officers with complimentary food during their long carnival shifts. Officers usually work long hours with little or no breaks.

For as little as $10, you can pay for an officer's breakfast, lunch, and a snack and beverage while they work the parades.

Businesses or individuals who donate $250 will be recognized by the NOPJF as sponsors on their website.
