Hahnville student gets fake $100 bills online, share with other students

HAHNVILLE, LA (WVUE) -

The St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office was made aware of a Hahnville High School student who had purchased fake hundred dollar bills off the internet and had distributed them at school as a joke.

Later that day it was learned that two other students had attempted to use the fake bills. One was used at the Sonic in Luling and one at Hahnville High School.

Twenty-nine (29) of the bills have been seized, but 71 are still unaccounted for.

The Sheriff’s Office is warning everyone to please be vigilant when accepting $100 bills.

  • Feels different
  • At the top front and on the back says for Motion Picture Only
  • When you hold it up to the light there is no security tape

If anyone comes into contact with any of the fake bills being described, please contact Lt. David Ehrmann with the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office at 985-783-1135 or 985-783-6807.
