Special needs children in St. Bernard receive parade invitation

ST. BERNARD PARISH, LA (WVUE) - St. Bernard Parish President Guy McInnis has extended an invitation to special needs children in the St. Bernard Parish School System to watch the Knights of Nemesis Parade from the parish's review stand.

The stand is located on the neutral ground in front of the Government Complex at 8201 W. Judge Perez Drive, Chalmette.  The review stand will be filled on a first come first serve basis.  Fire Department personnel will be on hand to supervise and make sure the children are safe while watching the parade.

Knights of Nemesis starts on Saturday, Jan. 30 at 1 p.m. in Chalmette. It begins on W. Judge Perez Dr. near Sidney D. Torres Memorial Park. The parade travels east to Campagna Dr. and makes a U-turn. It drives back down to where it began.

Knights of Nemesis was established in 2004 when a group of one time members from the Krewe of Gladiators and several long time carnival parade riders came together and formed the Knights of Nemesis Social Club and Parade.

It remains St. Bernard Parish's only active Mardi Gras Parade.
