LHSAA splits select-non select schools for more sports

(WVUE) -

This past Wednesday the LHSAA went back to nine state titles for football. Today, the select/non-select playoffs were extended to include basketball, baseball, and softball.

The vote took place in Baton Rouge at the LHSAA Convention, with final tally being 182-120.

The new format for the four sports will start in 2016-17 season.

Football has been under the select/non-select rules for three years.
