The Journal of clinical psychiatry new study reveals antidepressants do not cause heart defects in babies.
Older research has shown medications used to calm depression, could increase birth defects if pregnant women took the drugs during their first trimester.
Only 1% of babies were born with congenital heart anomalies, out of 200 pregnant women.
The British study shows no significant difference between women on antidepressants and women not taking the drugs.
