NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - New Orleans police have arrested two men and seek a third for a series of armed robberies which occurred in Mid City. Police took 22-year-old Terence Toledano and 27-year-old Anthony Reddick into custody and have issued an arrest warrant for 27-year-old Travis Washington.
According to police, Reddick was responsible for armed robberies that occurred on Jan. 2, 2016 and Jan. 8, 2016 and an attempted armed robbery that also occurred on Jan. 8. In the Jan. 2 incident, police say that at 1:50 p.m. Reddick walked up to a man in the 1400 block of South Gayoso Street and asked about renting a home. The victim said that he briefly turned his head and felt a pistol being pushed in the back of his head as Reddick demanded the victim's property. The man handed over his wallet before Reddick rode away on a purple bike.
On Jan. 8 around 3:47 p.m., police say that Reddick was responsible for an attempted armed robbery that occurred in the 3100 block of Cleveland Ave. In that incident, Reddick, who was armed with a pistol, ran up to a man. The victim feared for his safety and ran into a nearby school. Reddick then rode away on his bike.
Police say that Reddick is accused of the armed robbery of a woman, which occurred the same day around 5:30 p.m. in the 200 block of South White Street. An NOPD spokesperson says that Reddick put a pistol to the back of the woman's head while demanding her property. The victim handed over her belongings and Reddick rode away on his bike.
Detectives were able to identify Reddick as the man responsible for the incidents. Police arrested Reddick on Jan 14. on unrelated charges. He was re-booked for the two armed robberies and the attempted armed robbery.
Police say that Toledano is believed to be the man responsible for two armed robberies that occurred at a Chase Bank ATM, located in the 1400 block of North Broad Street. The first incident occurred on Jan. 3 around 9:50 p.m. Toledano is accused of pulling out a weapon and robbing a woman as she drove away from the ATM. Police say that he robbed a second woman at the same ATM on Jan. 12. In that incident Toledano pulled out a stun gun and told the victim to hand over cash. She gave Toledano an unknown amount of money before he ran away.
Officers arrested Toledano on Jan. 19 on unrelated charges. He later confessed to the robberies at the ATM. In addition to the unrelated charges, Toledano was booked for the robberies.
Investigators believe that Washington is responsible for an armed robbery that occurred on Jan. 18 around 11:25 a.m. in the 300 block of South Salcedo. In that incident police say that Washington is accused of robbing a woman while inside her car. An NOPD spokesperson says that Washington pulled out a gun and demanded the woman's purse. After the woman handed over her purse, Washington got out of the vehicle and fled on foot, towards Banks Street. Thanks to witness participation and evidence that was left on scene, investigators identified Washington as the man responsible for the armed robbery. A warrant has been issued for Washington's arrest.
