NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - Just as they did two weeks ago against the Grizzlies, the Pelicans hung with the perennial contenders most of the game, only to come up short in the fourth quarter. This time around, Memphis went on a 10-0 run halfway through the final period to put the game on ice and eventually win, 110-95.
Tyreke Evans did not play due to tendinitis in his right knee but Anthony Davis got off to a quick start, scoring 10 of his 23 in the first quarter and the home team led by as much as 12 in the second quarter.
In the third quarter, Grizzlies forward Zach Randolph scored nine to keep his team ahead of the Pels most of the period, only to see his frontcourt mate, Marc Gasol spark a fourth quarter rally, outscoring New Orleans 33-20.
Alvin Gentry's squad is back on the road for the first time in two weeks as they travel to San Antonio for a 7:30 p.m. tip-off Wednesday night.
