ST. CHARLES PARISH, LA (WVUE) -

The St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of a New Orleans Dave Anthony Turner of New Orleans after he allegedly kidnapped and raped a woman Tuesday.

At around 9:30 a.m., 39-year-old Dave Anthony Turner allegedly forced his way into the home of a former acquaintance, raped her and choked her until she lost consciousness. The victim told police that Turner then forced her into his vehicle and started driving on I-10 toward New Orleans. After a physical altercation, Turner allegedly pushed the victim out of the vehicle as he was driving on the interstate.

The victim was taken to the hospital with a fractured ankle, which required surgery, and several abrasions and lacerations on her body.

The St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office issued a warrant for Turner, and the U.S. Marshal Service assisted deputies in arresting him at his New Orleans home. He was jailed at Orleans Parish Prison where he faces charges from Orleans Parish. He will be transported to the Nelson Coleman Correctional Center and booked on charges of first-degree rape, second-degree kidnapping and attempted first-degree murder.
