It could have been easy for LSU (14-8, 7-2 SEC) to come out flat after an emotional loss to Oklahoma just days ago, but the Tigers did the exact opposite and blasted Auburn (9-12, 3-6 SEC) 80-68 on the road.
Ben Simmons, Tim Quarterman and Keith Hornsby led the way early as the Tigers stretched their lead to 38-31 at halftime. They didn’t waste any time taking a double-digit advantage in the second. Simmons accounted for the first six points out of the locker room to put LSU up 44-31.
As a team, the Tigers shot 56.7 percent, their best of the season. Simmons filled up the box score 21 points, 13 rebounds and seven assists.
LSU is back at home on Saturday against Mississippi State.
