NOPD: Surveillance video shows woman wanted for multiple car burglaries

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Police are searching for a woman accused of burglarizing several cars in the Lake Vista community.

According to NOPD, detectives connected an unidentified woman to three car burglaries in less than 24 hours.

The first burglary took place on Feb. 2 around 5:30 p.m. A woman reported that the inside of her car had been ransacked and several items were missing.

A man reported a second car burglary later that night, this time on Gull Street. According to NOPD, around 10 p.m., a man told police that he found the contents of his car's glove box scattered. Police say sunglasses were the only item stolen.

The final burglary occurred two hours later. Another male victim told police that he was repairing the interior of his car on Oriole Street when he noticed the glove box was open. The victim told police that several items were removed from his car and his wife's car.

Police believe surveillance video obtained on Feb. 1 shows the woman responsible. The surveillance video, which can be seen above, show a white woman wearing a white t-shirt and black vest pulling on car door handles in the area the three burglaries occurred. The suspect looks into the camera then runs back to the street. Detectives believe this woman is responsible for all three burglaries.

Anyone with information on these burglaries is asked to call The Third District Investigative Unit at 504-658-6030 or CRIMESTOPPERS at 504-822-1111 or toll-free at 1-877-903-STOP.
