NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - We'll have spectacular weather to finish out the weekend with plenty of sunshine and comfortable temperatures.
Looking ahead to the rest of Carnival and the Mardi Gras, we can expect the beautiful clear sky to stick around, but another big cold front will usher in windy and cold conditions.
The chill continues overnight Sunday into Monday morning with lows in the upper 30s. Then the bottom drops out as another cold front moves in during the day. Temperatures will be a few degrees colder during the day than on Sunday. Expect highs to struggle to get into the mid 50s and a significant drop through the afternoon and evening. Bundle up to enjoy the festivities at Rivertown, Lundi Gras at the River and the Lundi Gras parades.
The real cold doesn't settle in until Tuesday. Expect a light freeze on the north shore early Mardi Gras. You will want to be in full cold weather gear as temperatures will really struggle to get out of the 40s. Be ready for a cold Mardi Gras, but at least the bright sunshine last.
