KENNER, LA (WVUE) -

Argus, one of Metairie's biggest krewes, welcomed Zulu to Rivertown on Monday.

King Zulu 100 Jay Banks arrived by limo with his queen, Artilia Bennet Banks, around midday. They were greeted by King Argus 32, Michael Hollis, and his queen, Brooke Kelly.

"We're glad to play a part of it, but the real role is the people, and the party that's here to help celebrate life," Hollis said.

"I've been dreaming about this since cleaning coconuts when I was 10 or 11 years old," said Banks.

Hollis follows in the footsteps of his late father, Ken. Former state Sen. Ken Hollis was king Argus 25 years ago. This was the 18th meeting of the two parade krewes at Rivertown for Lundi Gras.

The Topcats performed at the Kenner festival.
