BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

With less than a week out from a special legislative session, Governor John Bel Edwards took his budget plan straight to state senators Monday.

Edwards spent most of Monday meeting with lawmakers from both sides of the aisle.

"The governor is taking his case to stabilize Louisiana’s budget directly to the members of the legislature," said Edwards' Communications Director Richard Carbo. "He recognizes the serious challenges that must be addressed in the special session, and wants to provide information and get input from members throughout the process"

On Monday, the governor also launched a budget crisis website to answer questions and get feedback.

The special session starts Sunday, February 14.

The Jets came into the contest with a 5-8 record, and played without their starting quarterback.
