Bob's Argus ride brings out the fans

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - Bob Breck rode as Grand Marshall of Argus 2016 on Fat Tuesday, and he loved every minute. Bob is retiring as FOX 8's chief meteorologist at the end of the month, and he said the ride was a fitting way to say goodbye to the viewers who've loved him all these years.

"Yeah, this is - 38 years to say goodbye. This is the way you'd want to say goodbye," he said. "It's such a blast. I think my son said it best: Anywhere else in the country, it's just a Tuesday, but here it's Mardi Gras."

Bob rode with his two sons and daughters-in-law, who live in Colorado.

"Well, it's kind of like if you grow up in Colorado and you see the mountains, you don't appreciate it. It's the same thing here. Until you come to New Orleans and experience this, it's like none other. You can't explain it, and this is what this day is all about. It's being out with the people who live for Mardi Gras."
