LSU Basketball in first place? I know it's hard to believe at a school known for football.

The Tigers sit in sole possession of the top spot in the SEC with a record of 8-2. Tonight they hit the road and face a tough test with South Carolina. The Gamecocks are 20-3 overall.

"Yeah, we're sitting in first place, but of course, we can't just be satisfied. This week is a huge week for us. If we take care of business this week, it's a defining moment for the month and the rest of the conference slate,", said guard Keith Hornsby.

Critics will point out star player, freshman Bill Simmons, isn't filling up the stat sheet like some expected this season. Hot takes Simmons wants no part of.

"Yeah, I'm in the position I am cause it's the way I play. You know if I was listening to everybody else, I probably wouldn't be considered one of the best players in the country. You know I've been doing this for awhile, and I'm not about to start listening to somebody tweeting some stuff. And it's not all about me. It's not one on five, it's five on five. So as soon as my guys are on the court, I'm looking for the best opportunity for us to win," said LSU freshman Bill Simmons.

Tip is set for 7 p.m. Wednesday in Columbia.

Alvin Kamara did it all last season for Sean Payton's offense, and that's why he's No. 2 on our ranking the Saints countdown. Kamara burst onto the scene, mesmerized saints fans, and the entire NFL with his unique running style. His stat line, amazing: 728 yards rushing, averaged over six yards per carry, with  eight touchdowns. He also added 81 catches with five touchdowns. All the while playing just 45 percent of the Saints offensive snaps. Kamara ran away with the NFL's Off...more>>
