NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

A burn chamber that will be used to dispose of tons of explosives in Webster Parish is expected to arrive on Thursday, February 11.

People who live around Camp Minden have been concerned about improperly stored M6 propellant. The explosives were found in 2012 during an inspection.

Crews plan to burn 15 million pounds of artillery propellant in a special chamber to contain the pollutants.

The Louisiana National Guard says the chamber will be used by Explosive Service International (ESI) to dispose of the propellant and Clean Burning Igniter.

The burn chamber traveled today along US Highway 71 North to LA 527. It's expected to arrive at Camp Minden by mid-morning tomorrow.
