NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - Soaring prices help create a sellers' market for homeowners in New Orleans.
According to our partners a Nola.com|The Times-Picayune, the average price of a home jumped 14 percent last year. They looked at figures from the New Orleans Metropolitan Association of Realtors. The association notes the average house in New Orleans sold for about $356,000 in the last half of 2015.
In Jefferson Parish, prices jumped about four percent last year. Saint Bernard performed a little better with prices jumping five percent. Saint Tammany Parish finished the year with growth of 3.6 percent.
