NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

With points towards the Kentucky Derby available almost every weekend, GMB racing's Tom's Ready got nudged out the top 20.

Twenty horses qualify for the Derby, so being in that number is vital to qualifying for the May 7 race.

Tom's Ready sits 21st in the Derby standings. The thoroughbred gained four points for his second-place finish in the Lecomte.

GMB Racing's other Derby hopeful Mo Tom, is currently tenth in the Kentucky Derby standing with 12 points. He received 10 for his win in the Lecomte, and two for his third place finish in the Kentucky Jockey Club Stakes in 2015.

GMB is owned by Gayle Benson, wife of New Orleans Saints and Pelicans owner Tom Benson.

Mo Tom and Tom's Ready are both entered in the Risen Star Stakes this Saturday at the Fair Grounds.
