HAMMOND, LA (WVUE) - Tangipahoa Parish deputies say they've arrested two teens in connection with the killing of a Ponchatoula man on Mardi Gras.
Investigators say a 15-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy are responsible for shooting and killing 19-year-old Gerrell Lee Jr. in Hammond. They were arrested yesterday and face second degree murder charges.
Around 9:30 a.m. on February 9, deputies report someone called 911 and said the passenger in his vehicle was shot. The driver told investigators it happened near the intersection of Rufus Bankston Road and Wardline Road.
The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office says the 15-year-old and 16-year-old are being held in the Florida Parishes Juvenile Detention Center.
