LAFOURCHE PARISH, LA (WVUE) - Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office says the chase went across parish lines on Saturday into Terrebonne Parish. Investigators say it all started around 8 a.m., when deputies tried to perform a traffic stop along the westbound lane of LA Highway 182 in Raceland. But the driver, later identified as Jarrid Hester, allegedly refused to stop and took off.
According to a press release, 35-year-old Hester took deputies on a car chase and at one point, tossed out more than 16 grams of what's believed to be methamphetamine. When the chase crossed parish lines, the deputies called the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office and Houma Police Department for help. Hester was eventually taken into custody.
Investigators say Hester had an active warrant for Aggravated Second Degree Battery. He was transported to the Lafourche Parish Detention Center in Thibodaux and booked on several charges. His bond was set at $140,100.
