NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - Former Saints player Darren Sharper and two other people prepare for a May 16 trial date in a drug and rape conspiracy case.
According to our partners at Nola.com|The Times-Picayune, court records show U.S. District Judge Jane Triche Milazzo set the date Monday.
Sharper pleaded guilty to federal charges last year, as part of a global plea agreement to resolve allegations that he drugged and/or sexually assaulted women in four states. Earlier this month, court documents indicated plea negotiations had been reopened.
Former St. Bernard Sheriff's deputy Brandon Licciardi and Erik Nunez of Metairie face charges in connection with the case. They have already pleaded not guilty in state court, where each faces a mandatory life sentence if convicted as charged.
