NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - State Police say they tracked down a man in New Orleans East, after he stole a Range Rover in the French Quarter.
Troopers say they arrested 31-year-old Darryl Wade Monday and booked him with theft of a motor vehicle and illegal possession of stolen things. State Police say he also has three active warrants.
Investigators say they found out Monday afternoon that someone stole a 2015 Range Rover in the 900 block of Royal Street. They say the victim helped them track the vehicle through a mobile electronic device in the Range Rover.
Troopers and the NOPD later found the vehicle in an apartment complex parking lot on Hayne Boulevard near Trapier Street. Investigators say they were able to find Wade and discovered he had the victim's credit card and identification in his pocket.
The New Orleans Criminal Enforcement Detail began on March 11, 2015. Since then, State Police say troopers have recovered 257 stolen vehicles.
