LSU Football prepares for spring practice

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

LSU announced its dates for the 15 spring practices the Tigers will conduct in March and April, which concludes with the spring game at 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 16 in Tiger Stadium.

LSU opens spring drills on Monday, March 7 in what will be the first of four workouts for the Tigers that week. LSU will also hold practices on Tuesday (March 8), Thursday (March 10) and Saturday (March 12) during the opening week of spring drills.

The following week will be a two-practice week for the Tigers due to Easter and Spring Break on campus. LSU will workout on March 15 and 17 before taking a week off for Easter and Spring Break.

LSU returns to practice on March 29 in what will be the first of three workouts that week. The Tigers will practice on March 31 and April 2 to conclude their third week of spring drills. LSU will also host its annual football coaches clinic featuring keynote speaker Brett Favre on March 31-April 2.

LSU will have three workouts in each of the final two weeks of spring ball – April 5, 7, 9, 12, 14, and 16. LSU Student Day at football practice will take place on Thursday, April 14 followed by the spring game on Saturday, April 16. 

The Tigers return 18 starters on offense and defense from a team that posted a 9-3 overall mark in 2015.
