NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - New Orleans police arrested two men following the brutal beating of a pizza delivery driver on Bourbon St. that was caught on camera
The victim was riding his bicycle in the area Sunday around 1:40 a.m. when four people stopped him. The suspects asked him to buy pizza by the slide. The pizza delivery driver told them he was not allowed to sell individual slices and they attacked him.
Officers received video surveillance of the incident which showed the suspects pulling the victim off of his bike and attacking him. He was stomped and beaten while some onlookers screamed.
Witnesses told police the suspects fled the scene when an onlooker tried to break up the fight.
An officer spotted all four of the suspected attackers at 3:45 a.m. in the 600 block of Conti St.
Police arrested Jermaine Hardy, 20 and Derrick Devante, 21, both of Laurel MS. The other perpetrators escaped and remain at large.
Hardy and Pruitt were booked with second-degree battery.
The investigation is ongoing.
