Two arrested, one sought in fatal Marrero shooting

JEFFERSON PARISH, LA (WVUE) - Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Deputies have arrested two individuals and seek a third wanted for the fatal shooting of a man, which occurred in Oct. 2015. According to police, both Ashante Harris, 23 and Carl Brown Jr, 28, of New Orleans have been taken into custody and authorities are still searching for 21-year-old Dramond Matthews of Harvey.

Police say that the three were named suspects in the shooting of 44-year-old Isaac Jones, which occurred in the 600 block of Myers Street in Marrero. Investigators learned that Jones was shot in the face during an armed robbery.

On Jan 10, 2016, detectives learned that Jones died from his injury. The Jefferson Parish Coroner's office ruled Jones' death a homicide. Shortly afterwards, detectives were able to identify Harris, Brown and Matthews as their suspects and obtained first degree murder warrants for the trio.

That same day, police were able to take Harris and Brown into custody and book them into jail.

Police are still searching for Dramond Matthews.
