NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

Uber says it teamed up with Arc of Greater New Orleans to recycle 17,000 pounds of beads and throws.

The company created a temporary recycle button for customers to request a driver to pick up their unwanted beads last Saturday.

Ten drivers responded to requests and dropped off the beads. You can still donate at drop off sites.

The sites can be found found at the following locations:

  • Whole Foods on Magazine
  • Clearview Mall near Semolina Restaurant
  • Mardi Gras World near the Convention Center
  • Rouses on Airline and S. Labarre
  • The Green Project - 2831 Marais St.

Arc of Greater New Orleans is now in its 61st year of serving children and adults with intellectual disabilities and delays and their families.
