Thibodaux police searching for two suspected skimmers

THIBODAUX, LA (WVUE) -

Thibodaux police are looking to identify two people suspected of setting up a skimmer device on an ATM machine at a local bank in the 400 Block of North Canal Boulevard.

On Saturday, February 6th, at approximately 8:42 a.m., Police were called after a former employee alerted them to the possibility of a skimmer being on the ATM machine outside of the bank. The skimmer was retrieved.

As a precautionary, police checked all banks in the city to see if others had skimmers. No other skimmers were found.

Anyone with information as to the identity of the suspects is asked to contact Crime Stoppers Bayou Region at 1-800-743-7433 or by texting "GIVEATIP" plus your message to 274637.

Tipsters will remain anonymous and could be eligible for a reward up to $1,000 in cash if the information given leads to an arrest.

    Officials say a fox and an alpaca died of their injuries, Sunday, after a Saturday attack by a jaguar that escaped from his enclosure at the Audubon Zoo. That brings the total to eight animals Valerio killed while on the loose. Yet, visitors weren't deterred. In fact, some say the attack was their motivation.
