Railroad worker killed along railroad tracks in New Orleans

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

Police are investigating a fatality on the railroad tracks running along the lakefront. A spokesperson with Norfolk Southern Railroad identified the victim as 25-year-old Kyle Liebold, a worker with Norfolk Southern Railroad.

According to NOPD, the Liebold was struck by a train around 6:22 a.m. near the corner of Hayne Boulevard and Mercier Street.  

Details surrounding Liebold's are still unknown. His death will remain unclassified until an autopsy is performed, according to police.
