KENNER, LA (WVUE) - Kenner police arrested a man after he stabbed his wife during an argument. The incident occurred Saturday just after midnight in the 800 block of 27th Street.
Police say that 50-year-old Damon Fleming began arguing with his wife after returning home intoxicated. The argument escalated into a physical fight and Damon armed himself with a kitchen knife. Damon's wife suffered a laceration to her cheek and a stab wound to her left thigh before she was able to get the knife away from Damon. The wife was brought to Ochsner Kenner where she was treated and released.
Investigators determined that Damon Fleming was the aggressor in the incident. His wife was not arrested nor charged.
Police also learned that Damon Fleming had an aggravated battery warrant stemming from an incident that occurred on Jan. 20, 2016 in the 4600 block of Airline Drive in Metairie. In that incident, detectives learned that Damon's battered his wife causing her to receive stitches.
Damon Fleming was booked in jail and a bond has not yet been set.
