BATON ROUGE, LA (WVUE) - LSU took game three of their series with Cincinnati thanks to a barrage of home runs off of Tiger bats. Four deep balls helped LSU cruise to a 14-2 victory, Sunday, and sweep a three-game series with the Bearcats.
The Tigers four home runs, which marked the most in a game for LSU since the Tigers belted five in a 27-0 win over Northwestern State in May 2014.
The home run power surge was led by junior DH Bryce Adams, who launched a grand slam. Junior catcher Jordan Romero, hit a solo homer to cap a 3-for-4, four-RBI weekend at the plate, which included a game-winning walk-off single on Friday night. A two-run blast by freshman third baseman O'Neal Lochridge in the fourth inning broke a 2-2 tie and gave the Tigers the lead for good.
LSU starter John Valek III made his debut with LSU, earning the win after throwing 5.2 innings and give up four runs, two of which were earned.
LSU returns to action Wednesday at Lamar in Beaumont, Texas.
