NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

LSU suffered a major setback in their campaign to make the NCAA Tournament when they lost at Tennessee this past Saturday. Tennessee played without Kevin Punter Jr., their leading scorer, and still blew out the Tigers 81-65. The win still kept the Vols record under .500 at 13-14.

In Joe Lunardi's latest Bracketology on ESPN, the Tigers are out of the NCAA Tournament. He puts them in the "next four out" group, with five schools in front of them also missing out on the "Big Dance."

Ben Simmons was out of the Tigers' starting lineup for the first time all season against Tennessee, due to academic reasons. Simmons still played 36 minutes and had 21 points and nine rebounds. He also had eight turnovers to match his season high.

LSU's tourney hopes took another massive hit today, with a report by ESPN that Keith Hornsby could be out the rest of the season with a hernia injury.

The Tigers hit the road to face Arkansas tomorrow night.
