THIBODAUX, LA (WVUE) - Thibodaux Chief of Police Bryan Zeringue announced that a search warrant was conducted at 1718 South Barbier street on Friday, Feb.19.
According to Zeringue, narcotics investigation prompted the search warrant, which landed over $8,500 in cocaine, ecstasy, and Xanax being recovered.
As members from the Thibodaux Police Department and the Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office/Narcotics Division arrived on the scene, multiple suspects fled on foot. The fleeing suspects were quickly apprehended by pursuing officers, while an entry team secured the inside of the home.
All of the suspects were eventually released pending a further investigation into the recovered illegal narcotics.
Police say while they were on the scene, Jacoby Landry, who had an active warrant for his arrest, was spotted among the large crowd of spectators who had gathered across the street. He was taken into custody and investigators say marijuana was recovered in his possession. Landry faces charges including Possession of Marijuana and a Contempt of Court Warrant for Failing to Appear.
