LSU basketball drops third straight contest

LSU entered Tuesday night's game at Arkansas looking to break a two-game losing streak but were outscored 51-33 in the second half to fall 85-65 and drop their conference record to a middling 9-6 in the SEC, 16-12 overall.

Coach Johnny Jones plead for leadership in his press conference Monday and freshman Ben Simmons responded in the first half with 14 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists and finished with an impressive 23-12-6 stat line but it was the Tigers' bench which let them down, totaling zero points among just three participants.

LSU returns home Saturday to avenge their first loss of conference play to Florida. Tip-off is set for 7:30 PM.
