NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

New Orleans police release surveillance photos of a man wanted for theft of a cell phone.

Investigators say the victim was inside the Brother’s Gas Station at 3622 General DeGaulle Drive in Algiers on Wednesday at about 12:20 a.m. and left their cell phone on the counter. When the victim returned to the store, the phone was missing.

Police say surveillance video shows the man in these pictures picking up the phone and putting it in his pocket, then leaving the store.

Contact Detective Tracy Raney or the Fourth District Investigative Unit at (504) 658-6046, or Crimestoppers at (504) 822-1111, if you can identify the suspect.
