More than 3,000 remain without power in St. John

LAPLACE, LA (WVUE) -

As of this morning, more than 3,000 Entergy customers in St. John remain without power. Most of the outages are in LaPlace.

Parish officials say the area saw extensive power outages and power line damage as a result of the storms that roared through Tuesday.

Entergy hopes to have most of the power restored by 5 p.m. Thursday.

Residents are still asked to conserve water.

In St. James Parish, Entergy's shows more than 500 reported outages as of Thursday morning.

Most of the outages in the parish are upriver, in Convent and the surrounding areas.
