NOPD investigating three Wednesday armed robberies

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - New Orleans Police are investigating three Wednesday armed robberies.

The first incident occurred at 2:12 a.m. in the 1900 block of North Broad Street.

The victim, a 49-year-old man was parked when he was approached by three suspects, described as armed black males.

The suspects entered the man's car and demanded money.

The man drove them one block to St. Bernard and North Dupree and told them he was going to get them some money.

The man then jumped out of his car and hid under a house until police arrived.

The second incident occurred at 10:55 a.m. in the 800 block of Gordon Street.

The victim, a 30-year-old woman was sitting in her car when she was approached by a suspect, described as a black man armed with a stick.

The suspect broke the passenger side window of the victim's car and took money from her purse.

The third incident happened at 11:04 p.m. in the 1400 block of South Derbigny Street.

The victim, a 36-year-old woman and perpetrator, identified as Kevin James, 43, were involved in a verbal altercation.

James demanded the victim's debit card and she refused, according to police reports.

James is accused of then threatening the victim with a screwdriver. She then gave up the debit card.

An arrest warrant for James is being filed.
