(WVUE) - Is breakfast cereal becoming a thing of the past, or is there something else at work?
A new survey puts part of the blame on the eating habits of millennial.
The New York Times reports 40 percent of American millennial are skipping cereal because it's simply too inconvenient.
Those who took the survey said they didn't like cleaning up after eating it.
The survey also found some millennial are avoiding processed grain.
Cereal producers have been experimenting with healthier alternatives and have introduced bars and to go pouches that can be eaten by hand.
