ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST PARISH, LA (WVUE) -

A video posted to Facebook shows adults and children taking food from a flipped over truck following the Feb. 23 tornadoes. The video has since been removed from the site.

The video was posted to the social media site on Wednesday.

The person shooting the video appears to urge a crowd of people to "get y'all some free chips while y'all good."

The incident happened in St. John Parish near Airline Hwy. It is unclear who owns the damaged truck.

"You ain't going to be able to find no truck flipped over like this nowhere else," said the person shooting the video.

St. John Sheriff Mike Tregre warned looters to stay away or risk the wrath of residents protecting their property.

"It may not be the sheriff's office you have to fear. The residents will protect themselves and their property. You may be the one that needs 911 services," Tregre said.

There have been reports of looting in the parish. Edwina Williams, a LaPlace resident, stayed in a hotel the night after her house was destroyed. As her house laid bare and broken, someone slipped in and robbed her.

The massive damage caused the tornado and storm stretched across the parish and parts of southeast Louisiana. The truck in the Facebook video can be seen from images taken by a helicopter surveying the damage.
