Tulane wins a 21-run contest against nationally ranked Arizona

Tulane's bats carried the day for the Wave with four home runs as they won a tight affair over 23rd ranked Arizona 11-10.

Jake Willsey crushed two home runs, while Jake Rogers and Hunter Hope also went deep. Hope's home run came in the first inning, with a three-run dinger. Willsey's blast came in the sixth and ninth innings.

Tulane had three-hit outings from Stephen Alemais, Rogers and Willsey, while fellow junior Lex Kaplan went 2-for-4. Hope and Willsey tied for the team lead in RBI with three, while Grant Brown added two. Willsey also scored a team-high three runs.

Corey Merrill struck out 12 batters, going 5.1 innings on the mound.

The contest is part of the Tony Gwynn Classic in San Diego.

Tulane is ranked 20th in the country.
