NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

Three burglars broke into a man’s home in the Lower 9th Ward, tied him up and then attempted to burn down his house after ransacking it.

According to a preliminary report from NOPD, three men broke in through the back door of a home in the 2000 block of Deslonde Street around 10 a.m. on Feb. 26. Police say the three unidentified black males tied up a 62-year-old resident with duct tape and made him get on the floor before ransacking his home.

One of the unidentified burglars then shot him in the left arm with a BB gun before the three of them left. Police say they returned later with gasoline and set the house on fire.

Detectives are still investigating this burglary. Fox 8 will continue to update this story as more information becomes available.
