Workout Wednesday: Radikal Fitnezz demonstrates lifting weights, burning fat

Rob Jason, owner of Radikal Fitnezz joins us this week for Workout Wednesday with a total body workout. This week's workout also shows off some new exercises to try if you're curious about weight lifting. Jason suggests women should do some sort of lifting to burn fat away permanently. Follow along with the steps below.

Barbell complex

The barbell complex is a "hybrid" exercise combining the hang clean, back squat and shoulder press. There are many variations of this exercise, but most often it is performed with an Olympic lift, squat, push and pull. It's very demanding on your short-term energy systems and is effective for conditioning for sports. You can use a PVC pipe, wood dowel or empty barbell to begin. Once you feel comfortable with the movements you can slowly add weight.

This is a total body workout that can be done for 3 sets of 10. It helps to build strength and stability for the upper body and lower body. 

Lunge Chest press combo

The Lunge Chest Press Combo with handles is a great full body exercise that requires core strength, balance and coordination. This exercise helps strengthen the chest and legs, while engaging the core.

The lunge chest press can be done for 3 sets of 10 on each leg. It helps with balance and coordination. 

Renegade Rows

The renegade row is a full body exercise that targets the core and back muscle groups.
It exercises the core during the plank, and back while doing the rows.
This is a timed exercised of 30-45 seconds per set. This exercise is great for strengthening and building support muscles.
