Man arrested for scamming cashiers at Thibodaux businesses

THIBODAUX, LA (WVUE) -

Thibodaux Police arrest a man that they say scammed several businesses by trying to trick cashiers into giving him more change than he was due.

Police arrested Aaron Favoroth, 25, on four counts of attempted theft, two counts of theft, three counts of disturbing the peace, and on a warrant from the 23rd JDC for criminal trespassing.

According to investigators, on March 1, Favoroth went to six businesses and tried to trick cashiers into giving him more change than he was owed. They say he would give the cashier a large bill for a cheap item. As the cashier provided the change, they say Favoroth would then ask the cashier to use smaller bills instead of the larger one in an attempt to confuse them.

Out of six locations, police say Favoroth was successful at two.
