Pelicans come up short in Houston, 100-95

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

The Pelicans and Rockets were tied entering the fourth quarter Wednesday night but Houston outscored the visitors by five in the closing period to improve to 3-1 against New Orleans this season.

Anthony Davis returned from his right big toe sprain to play 39 minutes but only managed 12 points on 5-of-13 shooting from the field. Norris Cole led the team with 21 points on 9-of-16 shooting while the Rockets were led by James Harden's 39 points.

Alvin Gentry's team falls to 23-36 on the season with a visit from San Antonio set for 7 PM Thursday.
