BATON ROUGE, LA (WVUE) -

The state Board of Elementary and Secondary Education (BESE) could vote today, on a controversial new funding formula for schools in Orleans Parish.

Some local charter schools say the new formula is unfair and flawed. They've asked the state board to delay the vote for 30 days.

On Tuesday, educators with the Recovery School District, Orleans Parish School Board and others backed the formula, saying it helps students with special needs.
