NOPD searching for man accused of stealing woman's car from her driveway

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

Surveillance cameras captured  a man stealing woman’s car from her own driveway in the 7th Ward.

According to NOPD, an auto theft occurred in the 2400 block of Columbus Street around 7:15 a.m. on March 4, 2016.

Police say the female victim was in her car about to leave her home when she went back inside, but left her car running in the driveway. Police say when she returned, her car was gone.

Surveillance cameras captured the unknown male suspect exiting a light-colored Nissan Maxima before entering the victim’s vehicle and stealing her car. Officers are now looking for the stolen maroon-colored 2002 Dodge Caravan with a Louisiana license plate VZB020.
