UNO sweeps Pittsburgh with 8-5 win

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

UNO completed their third weekend series sweep after beating Pittsburgh 9-5, Sunday. The Privateers remain unbeaten at home this season with a 9-0 record, and stand 9-2 overall on the season.

The big hitters for the Privateers were Dakota Dean, who went 2-for-3 with three runs and an RBI double.  Kyle Bracey drove in three runs and went 2-for-3 as he ran his hitting streak to 11 games.

Former Newman Greenie Daniel Martinez grabbed his fifth save of the year.

UNO returns to the diamond at Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. against Southern at home.

    Today's work was much lighter between the Saints and Chargers was much lighter. They wore no pads only shells and helmets, and they only practiced two hours instead of two and a half like Thursday.
