The turnaround is complete at Dillard University as their men’s basketball team is headed back to the NAIA tournament for the first time since 2001.

The Blue Devils took care of business in Sunday’s GCAC Championship Game, up-ending Xavier 84-71.

Demetric Austin was named the tournament's most valuable player after pouring in a team-high 24 points.

Dillard jumped ahead seven minutes in and never looked back, building their lead to as many as 19-points.

Meanwhile, Xavier’s women are headed back to the national tournament after upsetting top seed Talladega, 75-68.

John Curtis alum Whitney Gathright led all scorers with 25-points, grabbing the tournament MVP in the process.

For Gold Nugget Head Coach Bo Browder, today’s tournament win was his eighth in 17 seasons at Xavier.
