NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

New Orleans police are asking for the public's help in identifying and locating two men wanted in connection with an auto theft.

Police said it happened Saturday in the 4600 block of Toulouse Street.

Third District officers said they met with the victim around 12:30 a.m. He told them his car was in his driveway when he went to sleep. Shortly thereafter, he was awakened by the sound of an engine starting just outside the front door of his home. He went to the front door and found the vehicle was gone. He told police that no one else had keys to the vehicle, nor did anyone else have permission to use it.

Police said during the course of the investigation, detectives also learned there were two men who had committed several auto burglaries in the area during the time the victim’s vehicle was stolen.

If you know who the men are, you are asked to call the Third District Investigative Unit at (504) 658-6030 or Crimestoppers at (504) 822-1111.
