NOPD and U.S. Marshals arrest two suspects wanted for a Central City murder

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -


The NOPD with the help from U.S. Marshals, arrest two suspects wanted for a 2015 Central City murder.

Police arrested brothers Michael and Terrell Monroe on March 7th, in connection with the fatal shooting of 46-year-old Joe Dorsey. 

The shooting happened November of last year at the intersection of South Liberty Street and Martin Luther King Boulevard.
 
According to a Police report, Around 2:15 p.m. on the day of the incident, police responded to a call of a male shot. When police arrived they found Dorsey lying on the sidewalk and suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the body. EMS transported Dorsey to a local hospital, where he later died.
 
Detectives used surveillance video and eyewitnesses to issue arrest warrants for the brothers.

The NOPD then requested the assistance of the NOPD Violent Offender Warrant Squad and the U.S. Marshal Service’s Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force in finding and arresting the brothers in Savannah Georgia,on March 7th.
 
The two suspects also face state charges in Georgia for narcotics distribution and possession of a firearm.
